To use it flip open the hinged lid, adjust the width of the cut you want to cut 3mm, 6mm, 12mm or ribbon cuts by turning the knob, put the fruit or vegetable in the SpiralFix spiral slicer, then flip the lid closed and slice by turning the top handle while gently pressing down.  The Julienne or slices collect in the container below almost without scraps as they drop into the collection container has a non-skid bottom and a lid that will detach for storage.
